BK I'm LOL !! Look at our picture-do we look like a group Wicans or something ? We have advanced beyond conversions by the sword.
Other than identifying our personal faith traditions for introductions, very little of our conversation focuses around religion. Our "leader", the Afro American woman converted to Judaism, there are several Catholic, and the rest are generally active Christians in mainline Protestant denominations. We will be so excited to get an atheist in the group.
It is just a lot of fun to sit around a table and discuss in depth topics of popular concern and eternal truths.
Dennis Prager was a guest speaker at the American Atheist Convention in Minneapolis last week and you can pick up his show about it through Itunes or he sells the entire lecture/debate on his web site. The atheist was at least honest enough to admit that without a belief in God life is meaningless, which is different than saying your life lacks meaning.
You would not be our resident Atheist ,that just happens to be a bonus for the group to gain an understanding of your absence of belief.

No blatant attempts at evangelistic conversion or anything.
If you are able to "test drive" a meeting be sure to park in the Applebees/ Barnes/Noble parking lot and then walk across the street to Saturn. We will be in the community room upstairs. The two hours flies by. Group is still getting started so we are planning meeting formats topics, book readings, possible field trips etc...
We would love to have you join us for a meeting !!!! Remember we prefer clarity to agreement ! Everyone is civil and polite to each other regardless of party affiliation/belief. We truly desire diversity of thought and opinion.
